About Leslie AnnLeslie Ann grew up in Los Angeles, and has always been a storyteller and an avid reader. She began with myths and fairy tales, then soon graduated to science fiction and fantasy. Two of her favorite authors as a girl were Andre Norton and C.J. Cherryh. She discovered Tolkien in middle school when a friend of hers recommended she read an interesting book that featured little men with furry feet. Her own stories were full of imaginary creatures, alien worlds, magic, and most of all, young girls who had the strength, intelligence and courage to solve their own problems.
She received a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1988 and is still in active practice at a busy Southern California dog and cat hospital. Despite maintaining a demanding career as a veterinarian, she manages to continue work on multiple fiction projects. She is the author of the award-winning romantic fantasy Griffin’s Daughter Trilogy and the sci-fi series The Nuetierra Chronicles, currently in progress. She is also working on the YA fantasy series All Oceans Aglow with her husband, two screenplay projects and a novel of erotic horror. And if that wasn’t enough to keep her busy, Leslie Ann performs with a local belly dance troupe and is an avid cosplayer! Leslie Ann is the current Vice President of the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society and is a member of Costumers Guild West. She has appeared at numerous conventions and conferences as a panelist, including the World Science Fiction Convention, the Los Angeles Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention, the Bay Area Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention, and the WC2 Writer's Conference in Los Angeles, speaking about her own works, the creative and business aspects of writing, cosplay, and fandom in general. She considers herself more than a lifelong geek—she is, in fact, a Learned Genre Afficionado! |
